About the Department

  • Established in 1979, the Postgraduate Department of Physics were granted the status of a Research Centre, by Panjab University in 2017 for conducting Ph.D. programme in Physics.
  • The department has received research grants under UGC, DST-SERB, DBT Builder schemes. The faculty teaches and researches the frontier areas of Physics such as Materials Science, High Energy Physics, Non-linear Optics, Plasma Physics, Nuclear Physics etc.
