The Department of Hindi, established in 1973, offers Hindi as a core subject to Bachelor of Arts students, covering a comprehensive syllabus from medieval to 20th-century Hindi literature. The program equips graduates for postgraduate studies, civil services such as IAS and IFS, and professional courses like P.G. Diploma in Translation, fostering careers in translation, mass media, creative writing, and teaching. To promote linguistic and literary excellence, the department organizes debates, declamations, poetry recitations, story writing, and on-the-spot writing competitions. Additionally, through workshops, presentations, and speech-related activities, students gain confidence, enhance speaking skills, and deepen their understanding of Hindi language and literature.
