About the Department

The department of political science is one of the oldest departments established in 1973 with the very inception of the college having the mission to impart academic excellence with value based knowledge. The department is committed to cultivate confidence in the students for the competitive world. The department has around 1000 students to groom. The department is having association with the Model United Nations Club ( SDMUN Club)- a student organization that simulates diplomacy and the United Nations’ core ideals and Electoral Literacy Club to facilitate the electoral process The objective of the department is to produce not only good politicians, officials and entrepreneurs but also to produce good human beings.

Infrastructure

Library: The library is a host to hundreds of books related to political science. It is constantly updated as per the needs and the list of books provided by the department.

Internet facilities for Staff & Students: The campus is Wi-fi enabled. There are adequate internet facilities and a digital library. ICT enabled teaching is used to supplement the lecture method. Sufficient supplementary e-resources and reading material such as books, research journals and magazines of all kinds are provided in the library to enhance teaching and learning.

Class rooms with ICT Facility: The college provides an excellent infrastructure with sufficient number of classrooms, ultra-modern auditorium, seminar halls, conference room and laboratories. and a departmental room (Cabin No. 06) on ground floor commerce building.
