President’s Message

It gives me immense pleasure to learn that G.G.D.S.D. College, Chandigarh has emerged as a foremost centre of academic excellence where academics is being redefined everyday. It has established its towering credentials on the strong foundation of innovation and compassion coupled with invincible moral, ethical, spiritual and Sanatanist values which have been acknowledged and recognized by UGC that has conferred the status of ‘A College with Potential for Excellence’ on this institution.

Excellence is not one time achievement, it is a habit ‘Quest for Excellence’ in every field has been the distinct aim of this institution. Since its inception in 1973, the institution has challenged itself to achieve more than is expected. S.D. has been setting benchmarks of unprecedented success without compromising on quality and value based education in commercial, professional vocational, industrial and technical streams.

After 1989, G.G.D.S.D. college society started unfolding its wings and established .S.D. group of institutions which encompasses innovative, dynamic and vibrant campuses namely: Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Women, Gurdaspur, Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. College for Girls, Fatehgarh Churian and Pt. Mohan Lal S.D. School, Chandigarh. Taking forward the rich tradition of excellence, S.D. College Society has come up with a new college i.e. G.G.D.S.D. College, Kheri Gurna, Rajpura. To keep pace in line with the intensification in academia and transcontinental exchange of concepts and methodologies, S.D. College Chandigarh is striving hard to adopt hi-tech teaching methodologies and reorient its energy, resources and infrastructural facilities to introduce courses which are market oriented.

Toppers in studies, champions in sports and heroes in extra-curricular activities year after year make S.D. the irresistible destination for students. Onrush of admissions every year bears testimony to the fact that this is the most sought after institution. I have no doubt that with an inbuilt momentum, this institution would continue to march forward to a better tomorrow in the service of the nation and touch the new pinnacles of glory.
