Rules and Regulations of College Library

GENERAL RULES                                 
  • Maintain silence inside the library.
  • Use of mobile phones in the library is strictly prohibited.
  • No personal belongings are allowed inside the Library.
  • Enter your name and sign in the register kept at the entrance of library before entering its premises.
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
  • The librarian may recall any book from member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Library membership is non-transferable.
  • Staff/Students are allowed inside the library only on the production of their valid Identity Cards.
  • A misplaced book is temporarily lost. To avoid misplacement; books taken from the open shelves should be left on the nearest table.
  • Users are not allowed to carry eatables/drinks inside the library premises.
  • The library shall not be responsible for any loss or damage of the personal belongings of the users.
 CIRCULATION RULES
  • Books will be issued on the production of identity card by the member.
  • In case of loss of your ID card, report to the circulation counter so that your membership is temporarily suspended to prevent its misuse. Please inform the circulation staff as soon as you get the new ID card so that your memberships can be reactivated.
  • In case of loss of your ID Card, it will be re-issued with a fine of Rs. 100/-.
  • The Under Graduate and Diploma students can borrow a maximum of two books and Post Graduate students can borrow upto 4 books at a time for a maximum of 14 days. Late return of books will result in a fine of Rs.1 per book per day. If a student does not return his/her books by the due date, he/she will not be issued any books.
  • Regular faculty and staff can borrow a maximum of 08 books and adhoc & guest faculty can get upto 04 books for one-month. Research scholars are entitled to borrow 04 books for one month.
  • The circulation section remains open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on all working days of the college.
  • Never write/mark on books and/or tear/fold pages.
  • Reference books can be borrowed and kept overnight.
  • Journals and Magazines can only be consulted inside the library.
  • Staff/students must check the books while borrowing/returning. The borrower will be responsible for any type of damage.
  • Member is responsible for the books issued against his/her name.
  • Each student shall obtain ‘No Dues Certificate’ from the library after returning all the books borrowed by him/her and after paying outstanding dues, if any.
  • User can recommend a book for purchase by filling a “Book Requisition form,” which can be either collected from the circulation counter or downloaded from the library web-link. The form must be recommended and forwarded by the concerned faculty member and the Head of Department.
  • To facilitate self-service, the college library uses the Radio Frequency Identification Technology, a state-of-the-art automatic identification system. In case any assistance is required, the student may contact the library staff.
GUIDELINES FOR USING CENTRALISED RESEARCH FACILITY-CUM-DIGITAL LIBRARY
  • Computers in the library should be used for academic purposes only.
  • Online chatting, browsing of social networking sites is strictly prohibited. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulters.
  • Playing games on computers/mobiles is completely prohibited in the library.
  • Changing the settings of computers kept in the library is not permitted.
  • Staff/students should not unplug computer cables, network cables, and other peripherals in the library.
