Student Facilities

The college provides scholarships and concession to the deserving students of the institution. These efforts not only help and reward the deserving students, but also inculcate in them a drive to perform better. The meritorious and financially weak students are helped through these scholarships and concessions which amount to a tune of Rs. 20,00,000/-. The book bank initiative, started by the college, aims at providing help to the deserving candidates. Scholarships are given to the top 10 position holders in the Panjab University annual examination system. An application to the Principal at the time of admission is necessary, if a student wants to be considered for the concessions. The institution with the assistance of Chandigarh Administration too provides half (tuition) fee concession to the students in case two children (brothers/sisters) of same parents are enrolled simultaneously in the college. Such siblings too should submit their application to the Principal at the time of admission. The institution with the assistance of Chandigarh Administration also provides (half) tuition fee concession to those students whose parents’ annual income amounts to less than Rs. 1,00,000/-. For this concession, the student must submit an affidavit or salary certificate from the employer of his/her parents. In addition to this, economically weaker students can avail themselves of the concession by applying to the Principal through a written request for the waiver and/or the books at the time of admission.

Sports are an integral part of any educational institute and our college too strives hard to offer a healthy and conducive environment to all its sports persons.The college has adequate facilities for budding players. It has well maintained playgrounds for almost all major games. The sports persons are given incentives such as feeships, scholarships, personal sports equipment, free diet and various awards.
In addition to the freeships, free boarding-lodging and sports-kits provided by the college, the sports persons also get diet money and fee concession from the Sports Department of the Chandigarh Administration. They also get scholarships from UT Administration and PU Sports Department on the basis of their performance in various camps.

The college provides the facility of ‘Book Bank’ to help the needy and meritorious students.

All the students of the college have been covered under the accidental insurance scheme to the tune of Rs.1,00,000/-.  The policy covers the following events:

  • Death
  • Loss of two limbs/two eyes/one limb, one eye
  • Loss of one limb/one eye
  • Permanent total disability from injuries
  • Permanent partial disability

In addition to the above, the policy will provide for reimbursement of medical expenses, subject to a limit of Rs. 500, incurred by any student for his/her treatment in a hospital/nursing home as in-patient, for any injury sustained in an accident during the session. These claims will be settled by the insurance company.

The college provides remedial coaching for SC/ST/OBC and minorities from the session 2010-11 in order to enable these students to come up to the level necessary for pursuing higher studies efficiently and to reduce their failure and drop-out rate. Already the college conducts remedial classes for students coming from economically weaker sections.
College provides free UGC NET preparatory classes, IAS, CA and CS orientation classes for the economically weaker students and meritorious students.
